Mobile Fun expands warehouse to support increasing sales

Mobile Fun gears up for Christmas and international sales boost with warehouse extension

Birmingham, 08 October 2012. Mobile Fun, the UK’s leading online retailer of mobile accessories, has extended its warehouse and distribution centre to meet increasing sales.

The 25 per cent additional space within its UK warehouse come as a result of Mobile Fun’s successful international expansion over the past 18 months, with the launch of four new websites, in Spain, The Netherlands, Italy and the US, adding to its existing portfolio of sites in the UK, France and Germany.

Operations Director, Ruel Taylor, commented: “International orders currently make up 30 per cent of our total revenue and this is growing every month, especially following the successful launch of our new websites across Europe and the US.

“As a result of continually increasing demand from customers worldwide, our existing warehouse simply wasn’t large enough to handle all of the orders we are now processing. Our reputation for offering the largest range of mobile accessories is extending beyond the UK and Europe, so we’ve created additional space to help us fulfil growing international orders quickly.”

The extended warehouse will also ensure Mobile Fun is prepared for the upcoming Christmas period. Last December, Mobile Fun achieved its first “million month” with sales of over £1.1m and the company anticipates order numbers will increase significantly this year, from October onwards, thanks in part  to a strong roadmap of devices launching and selling in Q4. These include the highly anticipated iPhone 5, Galaxy S3 and Nexus products.

Mobile Fun improves customer experience across international sites

Mobile Fun announces first “million month” with sales over £1.1m in Dec 2011

New devices and international expansion boost Mobile Fun’s Christmas trading figures

Record orders for the festive period and the company has its first “million month” with sales of over £1.1m in December

Birmingham, 16 January 2012 – Mobile Fun, (www.MobileFun.co.uk) the leading online retailer of accessories for mobile phones, tablets and other mobile devices, has reported another strong Christmas trading period with orders for the quarter up by 21% and sales up by 13% compared with the same period in 2010.

The company, with UK, German, French, Dutch and Spanish websites, received a record 122,861 orders over the final quarter of 2011. December was a particularly strong month, with sales of over £1.1 million and orders up by 32% on December 2010, offsetting a slight weakness in UK trading in the build up to Christmas.

Strong growth at Mobile Fun’s European websites, MobileFun.de, MobileFun.fr and the more recently launched MobileFun.es and MobileFun.nl, increased orders placed on these websites by 93% and sales by 86%.

Mohammed Hussain, Managing Director of Mobile Fun, comments: “Our teams across Europe have delivered a strong performance over the festive period – and we’re thrilled that sales exceeded £1 million in December.  The continued growth of the smartphone and tablet markets has made this an incredible Christmas for Mobile Fun. Our customers especially appreciated fast delivery for last-minute shopping – this year, we were able to ship orders placed up to 7pm on 23rd December for pre-Christmas delivery.”

Mobile Fun continues international expansion with Spanish and Dutch appointments

Leading online mobile accessories retailer appoints Vanesa Nunez and Robin Verschuren to launch new Spanish and Dutch websites

In a further move to drive its international expansion, Mobile Fun, the UK’s leading online retailer of mobile accessories, has announced the appointment of Vanesa Nunez and Robin Verschuren to manage its new Spanish and Dutch websites and support the company’s continued impressive growth and sales across Europe.

The new sites will go live in October 2011 and join the company’s well-established and successful international portfolio which includes German and French websites.

As the new Head of Spain, Vanesa brings experience in ecommerce, mobile communications, retail and marketing to Mobile Fun. Prior to joining the company, Vanesa built up her retail experience with Orange and customer service and sales experience at Euskaltel, a Basque telecoms operator.

Vanesa commented on her appointment: “I started my career in the mobile industry, running my own mobile phone retail outlet, so this role is an exciting next step for me. My first priority is to create a localised online presence for Mobile Fun by pulling together a product portfolio which will appeal to our target customers. Using my experience within the Spanish mobile phone sector, I aim to ensure that Mobile Fun Spain is just as successful as the other European sites.”

Heading up the Dutch operations is Robin Verschuren. A graduate from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium, Robin started her career at Dutch think-tank Nexus Institute. Robin’s experience and knowledge of the online market were gained while managing online sales and marketing for recruitment consultancy, Careers International. Her passion for technology and links to youth marketing complement Mobile Fun’s European team’s existing expertise.

Robin said of her appointment: “I’ve joined Mobile Fun at an exciting time when mobile handset sales are high in the Netherlands and there is a definite gap in the market for a mobile accessories specialist. The depth of the company’s range and its consistently fast deliveries will certainly appeal to Dutch customers, who are among the highest and the most enthusiastic consumers of mobile computing and the Internet.”

Prior to the new website launches, Vanesa and Robin are in the UK overseeing localisation and product selection. Mobile Fun in Awards Hatrick

Online mobile accessories retailer’s 2011 awards success continues with an Online Retail Award and finalist status for the National Business Awards and IoD Young Director of the Year

Birmingham, 2 August 2011. Mobile Fun has won an international Online Retail Award 2011 for its mobile accessories business. Its customer service, product range and speedy delivery contributed to the award win.

Additionally, the Institute of Directors (IoD) West Midlands has announced that one of the Midlands’s most successful and influential young directors, Mohammed Hussain, MD of Mobile Fun, has been shortlisted for the Young Director of the Year Award. More than 40 of the UK’s most successful company directors will discover on    23 September 2011 whether they have won a prestigious award at the IoD Director of the Year Awards UK Final award ceremony, which will be held at the Lancaster Hotel London in Hyde Park, and presented by Michael Portillo.

Mobile Fun is also shortlisted within the National Business Awards’ Small Online Business of the Year category.  Over 150 of Britain’s most innovative and sustainable public and private sector businesses have been announced today as finalists of the National Business Awards in partnership with Orange.  Mobile Fun will now prepare to make its Dragons Den style presentation in person before an independent, expert judging panel in September at the offices of Coutts & Co, London.

Earlier this year Mohammed Hussain won the Young Director category at the IoD (West Midlands) Director of the Year Awards. 03 May 2011. Following Mobile Fun’s successful international expansion into Germany and France, the leading online retailer for Everything Mobile, has appointed Richard Moore as Head of International, to spearhead the company’s continuing growth and sales across Europe.

Richard brings experience of ecommerce, retailing and international operations to Mobile Fun. Prior to joining Mobile Fun, as Director of Operations for an International publishing company, he was responsible for business development and managing the company’s growth across the UK and international markets via ecommerce.

As Head of International, Richard will grow Mobile Fun’s established presence in Europe by managing the company’s German and French websites. The German online site, www.mobilefun.de, was launched in 2008 and is one of Mobile Fun’s fastest growing websites, behind the flagship www.mobilefun.co.uk website. The company’s French website, www.mobilefun.fr, was launched in July 2010 and is already exceeding its initial sales targets.

Richard commented on his appointment: “Following the successful introduction of our second international website, we now have a repeatable and sustainable international strategy in place.  As Head of International, my main responsibility is to ensure our continued international growth.
