Leading online mobile accessories retailer appoints Vanesa Nunez and Robin Verschuren to launch new Spanish and Dutch websites
30 August 2011. In a further move to drive its international expansion, Mobile Fun, the UK’s leading online retailer of mobile accessories, has announced the appointment of Vanesa Nunez and Robin Verschuren to manage its new Spanish and Dutch websites and support the company’s continued impressive growth and sales across Europe.
The new sites will go live in October 2011 and join the company’s well-established and successful international portfolio which includes German and French websites.
As the new Head of Spain, Vanesa brings experience in ecommerce, mobile communications, retail and marketing to Mobile Fun. Prior to joining the company, Vanesa built up her retail experience with Orange and customer service and sales experience at Euskaltel, a Basque telecoms operator.
Vanesa commented on her appointment: “I started my career in the mobile industry, running my own mobile phone retail outlet, so this role is an exciting next step for me. My first priority is to create a localised online presence for Mobile Fun by pulling together a product portfolio which will appeal to our target customers. Using my experience within the Spanish mobile phone sector, I aim to ensure that Mobile Fun Spain is just as successful as the other European sites.”
Heading up the Dutch operations is Robin Verschuren. A graduate from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium, Robin started her career at Dutch think-tank Nexus Institute. Robin’s experience and knowledge of the online market were gained while managing online sales and marketing for recruitment consultancy, Careers International. Her passion for technology and links to youth marketing complement Mobile Fun’s European team’s existing expertise.
Robin said of her appointment: “I’ve joined Mobile Fun at an exciting time when mobile handset sales are high in the Netherlands and there is a definite gap in the market for a mobile accessories specialist. The depth of the company’s range and its consistently fast deliveries will certainly appeal to Dutch customers, who are among the highest and the most enthusiastic consumers of mobile computing and the Internet.”
Prior to the new website launches, Vanesa and Robin are in the UK overseeing localisation and product selection. They will report to Richard Moore, Head of International at Mobile Fun, who concluded: “The significant success of our existing European websites demonstrates an appetite for a comprehensive range of mobile accessories from one online retailer. As part of our strategy to target new international markets, we are delighted to welcome Vanesa and Robin on board to introduce local knowledge and marketing skills, while also overseeing the development and launch of websites in their home countries.”
