Over 10 million devices are now registered to receive programmes, movies and series from Telefónica’s Movistar+ service.
According to El Economista, this represents an increase of 15% compared to the 8.5 million figure registered in October 2019, the first month in which standardised data was introduced.
It adds that growth has been driven by the lock down imposed in Spain during the coronavirus pandemic.
Despite its availability on many devices, the favoured one remains the TV, either connected directly through the company’s decoder (over 3.5 million units in Spanish homes) or through the smart TV app, with over 2 million accesses per month.
It can also be watched on devices connected to the internet and TV via an HDMI cable such as a video game console or PC.
