Vodafone has launched a broadband rescue package for small businesses in the UK to help them back to work after the lockdown.
The telecoms giant is offering free unlimited broadband for six months and free access to Microsoft 365 Business Standard to all UK startups – whether already on a Vodafone contract or not.
A large number of small and early-stage businesses have struggled during the coronavirus pandemic, with many unable to continue working remotely and others unable to source financial help despite the UK government launching a £1 billion support package for startups.
As the government looks to ease the lockdown restrictions and get people back to work, Vodafone is aiming to take some financial strain away. From today, customers that opt for a 24-month business broadband plan will have the first six months taken care of.
“Our role in these challenging times is to keep the UK connected and help businesses return to work,” said Nick Jeffery, CEO, Vodafone UK. “Small businesses have been hit particularly hard by this crisis. By reducing their costs and providing them with our brilliant technology and expertise, we hope to help them get back on their feet and return to growth. A little financial help now will go a long way in the future.”
After the six months, there will, of course, be a fee. Business Broadband on Vodafone will be £19.17 per month for the remaining 18 months of the contract and Microsoft 365 Business Standard will be £9.40 per month.
Paul McGann, the managing director of Cat Among the Pigeons, a creative promotional marketing agency based in Leeds said: “With one less bill to think about for six months, this offer will be incredibly helpful to small businesses like us.”
Vodafone has been quite generous during the outbreak, offering payment plans to struggling businesses and also to the NHS. The company made unlimited data available for no extra cost for both monthly and pay as you go customers that worked for the NHS.
